WELL HELLO THERE,

I’M ENEKA

I am a full time Wedding and Portrait photographer, based near Edinburgh, Scotland, but travelling to all corners of the UK and Europe. I draw my inspiration from art, film and life around me and like the creativity and excitement that comes with each wedding and photoshoot. My work has taken me to France, Italy, Ireland, Estonia, Scotland and Malta to name a few.

My aim is always to capture in images what makes the couple’s day special for them and for all the people who love them. And yes, there are the nerves, last minute fixes, laughter, unexpected surprises, overwhelming emotions, sweet tears and some wicked dance moves.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

ANDY & I GOT MARRIED…

…over 15 YEARS ago at an open air museum in Estonia – it was the best day. The most wonderful part was seeing all my family and friends together – it’s such an amazing feeling to know that they’ve all come because of you. My favourite moment of the day was when Andy squeezed my hand during the ceremony, it was so sweet and meaningful to me. Aside from that, I can’t remember much about the day – it’s all such a blur! I never wanted to get married, but Andy changed that – when you’ve found the right person for you, you just know. I love being married – you’re a proper team.

We started a family which also includes my two super lovely stepdaughters, Katie & Kirsten, who regularly hang out with us and never say no to Colin the Catapillar Cake.

I WANTED a CHANGE

I used to work in a bank, but when the financial crash happened I decided I wanted to do a more creative job, take control of my career and jump off the hamster wheel. I’ve always loved books with images and taking photos, and decided weddings would be a great opportunity to be creative with photography – and it is!

My photography style is romantic and elegant – I love to capture tiny moments from the excitement of getting ready to the intimate and close up portraits. I really enjoy the one on one portrait time to get really creative. While my portraits aren’t staged, I sometimes give gentle direction so you look natural. Most of my couples hate having their photo taken – we’ve all been traumatised by school photos – so I try to make it easy and fun for you.

I love every single wedding, but the most hilarious moment I’ve seen so far was when the cake melted in the heat and fell over onto the floor, mid speeches. The bride and groom pulled out a fork each and ate it off the floor – I loved them for it. It’s great to work with chilled out couples who care most about having the right people there and having a great party.
